THINGS ABOUT THE WEEK
Last weekend we went to this hyper posh bar at the Vela, a sector of the W Hotels located at the end of the Barceloneta beach. It´s supposedly shaped like a "vela," a ship´s sail. Anyhow, after riding the elevator up to the 26th floor we had this crazy view of all of the beach front of Barcelona while we ran around and drank Watermelon sumpin-sumpin and dangerous mojitos on the tab of "Sheridona," our imaginary friend. The music was loud, upbeat and danceable, the people a bit out of our price range and the general atmosphere verging on belligerent.
Before that, we dared to enter an Irish Pub in the Borne, another upscale member of BCN, this one a neighborhood. If you´ve never tried Guiness on tap, you might want to make a note of it. And if you´ve never been to the born, you also might want to make a note of it, but this time to remind yourself to go there only if you win the lottery or find gold and oil on your land. To give you an idea, the average item of clothing weighs in at around €100 in any of the less fancy shops, and let´s just say I didn´t dare enter any boutiques.
I know this all sounds very superficial shop-o-holic talk, but what happened was that Dani, after the Guiness of course, thought it was a good idea to have our photos taken in Custo, a store promoting the opportunity to become a model celebrity. I couldn´t help but look at the price of the clothing that was mandatory to wear if you chose to have your photo taken and I´m going to say that it was not exactly a steal.
What was a steal was the amazing Italian gelato shop where all of the fruit flavors had no milk in them. We shared a cone with ruby grapefruit and banana flavors. Then we walked around aimlessly and complained to one another about how rich everyone in the neighborhood looked. The weekend before we actually stopped and played the guitar with some like minded youngsters on the main Rambla de Borne, but this week we were feeling less creative apparently... plus we had been playing their guitar, not ours.

NEWS FROM NOWHERE
The Hombre de Platino is now administering classes in Tarot. I have been working as the promotional vehicle plastering ads up and down walls around our home base.
Successful? Well... not exactly. Have yet to hear from anyone but all the same it´s a helluvalotta fun thinking dreaming that something might become of it. Natesia was hear the other night to screen our process and left with plans to dump one of her amantes and look more into a relationship with the other. Now isn´t that magic for you?
Yes, for some reason the photo has no black. Well, boo hoo. It looks awfully swell with black though, I can guarantee.

BARB-CN
Barbie has come to Barcelona. Yes, in all seven inches of her race hound trimmed body, she has her own expo at the Barcelona Castle. Take a look at the link below if you read Spanish and are interested but also to see another interesting Spanish idiosyncrasy. While fashion model pink, perfect but and trim tummy (such as worn by Barbie) is one thing to rage about in Barcelona, it turns out there is another cultural obsession with disabled Olympic sports--persons. Anyone looking to watch my favorite movie and prepared for some Spanish eroticism, go for Almodovar´s Carne Tremula (Live Flesh). It sounds erotic, which it is, but that´s just a thread in the story. It´s pretty much amazing, and, like the Barbie Expo member found on the page below, has special athletes as a star.
Now you may ask, "Why do Spaniards put special athletes in the (perhaps sacrilegious) limelight?" Well, I ask the same question and if you can think of an answer that makes them more special in this country compared to other countries, please let me know.

SOUND FOR YOUR EARS
Monday night, my friends Cris, Asun, Jack and I gathered together to play some music after I dropped in to visit them all where they work during the day. We had a great time improvising and came up with some fun stuff. Have a listen:
